Green Living Workshop by Sustainable Works
Westside Pavillion: October 13-November 17, 2011

RVNA invites Reynier Village residents to attend a free series of 6 weekly Green Living workshops by Sustainable Works, organized by SORO Green Team, thanks to a grant secured by Councilman Paul Koretz, District 5.
Each meeting is designed to educate on topics as they relate to the environment: water, energy, waste, chemicals, transportation, shopping, and food.

SORO meeting of Neighborhood Leaders
August 29, 2011 – 7 pm

The SORO NC board invites leaders of Neighborhood Associations to a meeting with LAPD. Representing the Reynier Village Neighborhood Association: Hector Garza, Treasurer, Elisa Leonelli Communications.
The main focus of discussion is a recent increase in car break-ins.
RVNA introduces the subject of burglaries, unfortunately happening quite frequently in our neighborhood.  A resident from Halm Ave testifies that, in his case, the alarm system sounded and scared off the thieves.

Steeping Forward at Hamilton
June-August 2011

The RVNA Board votes to donate $ 500 to support Stepping Forward, the Summer Teen Program at Hamilton High School,  organized by Beth Ryan, President of the Crestview Neighborhood Association.
Neighbors are encouraged to help out by donating money to this worthwhile project or volunteering their time to help students learn about possible careers.

Over the 10-week program, the students will be engaged in activities including gardening, cooking, art projects, sports, drumming, dance, a book club, community service projects, leadership academy and weekly field trips.

Reynier Village Neighborhood Association publishes a yearly Newsletter that is distributed by RVNA Block Captains to each of the 500 homes in our neighborhood.
We invite all residents to our Summer Park Nites, give information about other events of interest to the community.
