Crime Prevention Tips
Install motion control lights in front of your house, and locked gates on the sides, so there’s no access to your back doors and windows from the street. Install an alarm system with 24 hour monitoring. A barking dog is an effective deterrent. Lock all windows and doors. When you’re not home, turn on some lights, a radio or TV set. Lock your car, make sure the alarm is turned on. Do not leave laptops, cellphones, cameras, tablets and other valuables in plain sight, inside your car or in your home.

Neighborhood Watch
The Neighborhood Watch Program is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime and reduce fear in our neighborhood, it is the cornerstone of the LAPD’s crime prevention strategy; it enlists the active participation of residents, in cooperation with law enforcement, to reduce burglaries, improves relations between police and the communities they serve. Since 2006 RVNA has been working with CPAB and LAPD to create NW groups on many of our blocks. If you would like to organize or update NW on your street, email us and we’ll help you to get started.
